MOUNTAINBIKE GRAND PRIX Obertraun mit Pumptrack
Am Samstag, den 13. Mai 2017 stand das nächste Austria Youngsters Cup Rennen am Programm. Die BSFZ Obertraun Bike Arena lud an zwei Tagen zum Mountainbike Grand Prix Obertraun. Die Youngsters hatten zugleich hier die Möglichkeit gleich zweimal zu Punkten da auch ein Pumptrack nach dem Cross Country zu absolvieren war.
Die Bike Arena in Obertraun ist die modernste und aufsehenerregenste Cross Country Anlage Europas. Der Kurs wurde nach den neuesten Trends und absolut zuseherfreundlich angelegt. Technisch anspruchsvolle, natürliche Passagen wechseln sich mit eindrucksvollen, künstlichen Hindernissen ab. Jeder Meter erfordert die volle Konzentration der Fahrer und garantiert Mountainbikesport auf höchstem Niveau!
Apropos Niveau: Die Youngsters hatten am Samstag Ihren großen Auftritt, am Sonntag die weltbesten Mountainbiker. Somit konnte am Sonntag das erste Weltcuprennen dort ausgetragen werden. Auch die Starterfelder waren in allen Rennen mit allen Topfahrern national und international vertreten! Den mitgefahrenen Eltern und Betreuern wurden tolle Rennen, spektakuläre Zweikämpfe, Emotionen und erschöpfte AtheltInnen gezeigt. Sie alle gaben ihr Bestes.
Auch dieses Mal konnte sich der Wettergott nicht so Richtig entscheiden. Die U13 kamen noch recht trocken durch das Rennen, bei den U15 hatten wir bis knapp vor dem Ende Regen und bei der U17 kam dann schon die Sonne raus. Der Pumptrack am Nachmittag fand dann bei Sonnenschein und angenehmen Temperaturen statt! Klassisches Salzkammergut Wetter halt – what else ;-)
Vorab kann ich berichten dass wir in den Klassen U13 einen Podestplatz bei den Burschen durch Stefan Herzog, bei den U15 einen Podestplatz im Pumptrack durch Simeon Sachse und einen Tagessieg in der U15 bei den Mädchen durch Katharina Sadnik verzeichnen konnten.
Aber auch die anderen Mädchen und Burschen in den Klassen U13 – U17 konnten sich in Szene setzen und bereits einige Plätze im Vergleich zum Saisonstart gut machen. Der folgende Link zeigt alle Ergebnisse mit Rundenzeiten  von den Profis Damen und Herren bis hin zu der Klasse U 7 im Pumptrack.

Aus Kärntner Sicht im Vergleich zu den Klassenstartern ergibt sich im XC dann folgendes Bild:
U13: Starter aus Kärnten: Eva, Stefan und Nico
                                      Ränge: 8te Gesamt – 12 Starterinnen
                                      Ränge: 3ter und 9ter – 18 Starter
                                      Gesamtstarter: 30 in der U13
U15: Starter aus Kärnten: Katharina, Sarah, Clara, Annabell, Simeon, Florian, David &
                                      Killian (hatte leider einen Kettenriss)
                                       Ränge: 1te, 8te, 11te, 12te und 14te – 17 Starterinnen
                                       Ränge: 13ter, 15ter & 19ter– 29 Starter
                                       Gesamtstarter: 46 in der U15
U17: Starter aus Kärnten: Laura, Paul, Jonas, Levi, Fabian & Michael
                                      Ränge: 13te – 14 Starterinnen
                                      Ränge: 14ter, 21ter, 29ter, 30ter und 37ter – 39 Starter
                                       Gesamtstarter: 53 in der U17
Der nächste Bewerb im Austria Youngsters Cup steht in Kleinzell am 3. Juni am Programm. Dieses Rennen zählt auch zur Centurion Junior Challenge. Diese Rennserie ist für Kinder und Jugendliche von U7 – U17 und wird an sieben Orten ausgetragen. Diese Serie zeichnet sich durch eine leichtere Streckenführung aus und kann auch als Sprungbrett für den Austria Youngsters Cup gesehen werden.
Nach Langenlois, Haiming, Lassnitzhöhe (XC und Pumptrack), Stattegg (XC und Technik) sowie Obertraun (XC und Pumptrack) haben wir nun bereits fünf Austragungsorte mit insgesamt acht Rennen absolviert.
Zwischenergebnis und Podestplatzierungen aus Kärntner Sicht:
8 Rennen und 8 Podestplätze – 3 x den ersten und dritten Platz bei einem XC sowie 2x einen dritten Platz beim Pumptrack!
