Mountainbike: Alexander Gehbauer nach herausragender Leistung 4. im Elite-Wettbewerb in Heubach (HC-Kategorie)
Um sich optimal auf die anstehenden Aufgaben – WC-Under 23-Leadertrikot-Verteidigung in Tschechien und Frankreich an den nächsten Wochenenden – entschied sich Alexander beim HC-Kategorie Wettkampf (eine Kategorie unter WC; nur einige HC-Wettkämpfe weltweit) im deutschen Heubach nicht zum Start im Unter 23-Bewerb sondern zum Schlagabtausch mit Weltmeister Miroslav Kulhavy (Tschechien), Jose Antonio Hermida (Spanien), Moritz Milatz (Deutschland) und vielen anderen klingenden Namen der MTB Weltspitze im Elite-Bewerb. Seiner Persönlichkeit entsprechend und typisch für seine jugendliche Unbekümmertheit versteckte sich Alexander von Beginn des Wettkampfes an nicht vor Ehrfurcht vor den klingenden Namen der Konkurrenten sondern mischte ganz vorne im Starterfeld mit. Zur Überraschung vieler Experten konnte er das Tempo an der Spitze bis zum Schluss des Wettkampfes aber nicht nur gut mitgehen, sondern mit einer fulminant schnellen letzten Runde auch den Angriff der Konkurrenz auf seinem Podiumsplatz (die ersten Fünf) abwehren und nach einer Rennzeit von 1:33.49 den ausgezeichneten 4. Platz erringen. Den HC Wettkampf in Heubach (zählt auch zur Deutschen Bundesliga) gewann Moritz Milatz (Deutschland) vor Fabian Giger (Schweiz) und Ex-Weltmeister (2011) Jose-Antonio Hermida aus Spanien.
