Marlene Sunshine Race / Nals Südtirol am Sonntag, 01.04.2012

Bei herrlichem Frühlingswetter nahmen Yana Dobnig, Franziska Egarter und Stefan Egarter, drei der U15 Nachwuchsfahrer des RLM OMYA Villach, beim "Marlene Sunshine Race" in Nals/Südtirol teil. Fabian Lamprecht war nach einer Erkrankung leider noch nicht ganz fit für einen Start. Das Rennen ist eines der bestbesetzten in Italien und alleine in der Klasse U15 waren ca. 150 Teilnehmer am Start. Die sehr anspruchsvolle Strecke erforderte von den Youngsters volle Konzentration und Geschick bei den anspruchsvollen Anstiegen und steilen Downhillpassagen.

Die beiden Mädels starteten für das österreichische Nationalteam und Yana Dobnig erreichte in ihrem Jahrgang mit einem starken Rennen den hervorragenden 2. Platz! Franziska Egarter konnte in ihrem Jahrgang, trotz einer zeitraubenden Kollision bei der Abfahrt, den vierten Rang ins Ziel retten. Stefan Egarter behauptete sich mit einem 18. Rang im sehr guten Mittelfeld seiner Klasse.

Das hochwertige Rennen gab den jungen Fahrern für die zukünftigen Aufgaben großes Selbstvertrauen und eine Menge an Erfahrungen. Durch die internationale Besetzung mit Weltklassefahrern und die hervorragende Organisation hinterließ diese Veranstaltung bei allen einen besonderen Eindruck.
