"Ergebnis Wintertriathlon-WM am 24. und 25.3.2012 in Finnland"

 

österreichs Wintertriathlon Team Romana Slavinec, Simone Rechberger, Silvio Wieltschnig SC Hermagor und Markus Rothberger hat sich am 25.3.2012 bei der ITU Wintertriathlon WM in Jämijarvi/FIN den Vizeweltmeistertitel im Teambewerb gesichert. Das Team musste sich nur Russland geschlagen geben. Auf Platz 3 landete das Team Norwegen.
Im Einzelrennen holte Romana Slavinec Gold in der U 23 Kategorie. Simone Steinecker wurde Sechste in der Eliteklasse der Damen. Markus Rothberger und Silvio Wieltschnig belegten im Einzelrennen die Plätze 11 und 12.
Kommentar von Silvio zum Rennen:
Nun ist der erste Tag vorbei. Bin sehr zufrieden gewesen, nachdem die Nacht nicht wirklich lustig war. Das Bein hat geschmerzt und beim Laufen spürte ich es noch. Leider hat es in der Früh ein wenig geschneit, danach kam der Regen. Nun zum Rennen. Nach dem Laufen wechselte ich noch mit der Führungsgruppe an 6. Position. Beim Radeln habe ich wieder viel verloren, da ich mit den tiefen Schneeverhältnissen nicht zu Recht kam. Langlaufen war wieder ok. Zum Schluss kam ich als Gesamt- Zwölfter, einschließlich U23, ins Ziel.
Dem Vizeweltmeisterteam unsere herzliche Gratulation!
