"Tour de Kärnten 2012"

 

„In einer der schönsten Regionen österreichs, in Mittelkärnten rund um den drittgrößten Kärntner See, den Ossiachersee, und in der Region der Nockberge findet heuer unter der Schirmherrschaft des Kärntner Radsportidols, Paco (Peter) Wrolich, von Sonntag dem 20. bis Freitag dem 25. Mai 2012 die Erstauflage der Tour de Kärnten statt.
Das Etappenrennen über sechs Tage, fast 600 Kilometer und ca. 9.000 Höhenmeter, das nach dem Muster einer Tour de France und dem Giro d’Italia durchgeführt wird, ist für engagierte und ambitionierte Rennradler gedacht, die sich auf „flacheren“ Etappen, echten Berg- und Passstrecken und einem Bergzeitfahren mit Gleichgesinnten messen möchten.
Tägliche Zeitmessung und Feststellung der Tagessieger in den verschiedenen Wertungsklassen, sowie eine Zeit Bonifikationen für die ersten Drei des Bergzeitfahrens ergeben am Ende die Sieger, die sich ein Preisgeld von 3.000 Euro teilen.
Die Rennveranstaltung ist eingebettet in ein attraktives Rahmenprogramm aus touristischen Angeboten, musikalischen Veranstaltungen, täglicher Siegerehrung und Pastaparty, das die Woche für die gesamte Familie zum (Urlaubs-)Erlebnis machen wird.
Start und Ziel der sechs Etappen ist Ossiach am Ossiachersee, das Bergzeitfahren endet auf der Gerlitzen in direkter Nähe zum Startort. Begleitfahrzeuge, Besenwagen, Service- und Rettungswagen sind tägliche Begleiter der Rennfahrer.“
