"Bericht BPM2011 Radbewerbe in Faak"
Zuerst möchte ich mich bei meinem „Organisationsteam Radsport“ recht herzlich bedanken,
welches vom Radsport vorerst recht wenig am Hut hatte und sich während den Vorbereitungen und dann bei den Bewerben zu Fast-Profis entwickelte. Ich glaube aus meinen Erfahrungen sagen zu können, dass wir zwei wirklich nahezu perfekte Radbewerbe durchgeführt haben und die durchwegs positiven Rückmeldungen von Kollegen aus allen Bundesländern dies auch bestätigen.
Zum Sportlichen möchte ich sagen, dass wir erstmals beim Starterfeld mit 127 gemeldeten Teilnehmern die 100er Marke deutlich überschritten haben. Vom Leistungsniveau hatten
wir zahlreiche Elite Fahrer, Ex Profis sowie einige der stärksten Amateur- und Master Fahrer
sowie den regierenden österreichischen Elite Meister am Start. Das Straßenrennen mit 9 Runden und 86,5 km rund um den Faaker See war vom Start weg von Taktik geprägt, erst in den letzten 2 Runden wurde richtig Tempo gemacht und da wurden Wieser Martin (PSV Tirol) und Gubert Markus (ARBö ASKö Feld am See) die von der ersten Runde an in Führung gelegenen waren eingeholt. Beim Zielspurt setzte sich der österreichische Elite Meister Harald Starzengruber, LPSV Salzburg, durch und holte sich den Bundesmeistertitel. Bei den Damen siegte Michaela Eßl, ebenfalls LPSV Salzburg.
Das Mountainbike Rennen führte über 9,2 km, mit einem Höhenunterschied von 1.150 m, auf die Feistritzer Alm. Auf dieser sehr anspruchsvollen Strecke holten sich die Bundesmeistertitel Johannes Wallner, PSV Wien, und Evelyn Schlager, LPSV Salzburg.
Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen zum Abschluss, trotz dieses elitären Starterfeldes war es den
Printmedien nicht mal eine Zeile Berichterstattung wert.
